I grew up on Cape Cod, where lobster was easy to come by. Years ago I moved out West and then to the desert of the Southwest. Since I still love a good fresh lobster, and you can't get them at restaurants around here, I have been ordering live lobsters from various sources online for several years now. Usually as a once or twice a year treat due to the prohibitive cost of shipping and the high price of lobster in general.
My first order with lobsterboys and the jumbo lobsters I received were fresh and feisty upon arrival and were delivered the morning after I ordered them. They were also a fair amount cheaper than at the other places I've ordered from in the past.
Add to that the priority overnight shipping cost was around $100 less than the other online live lobster retailers I've used in the past; making the overall price reasonable enough that I can order lobsters more than once or twice a year now.
I'm placing my second order for some medium jumbos -- and if all goes well with that order I'll make lobsterboys my "go to" online spot for getting live lobsters delivered fresh and safely to my New Mexico desert homestead.
